PATARA ANCIENT TOWN:
Patara is one of the most fascinating ancient sites to visit as it is still being discovered. There is a sizable theater, a freshly rebuilt parliament building, stunning Roman baths, and the amazing Patara beach, which stretches for 11 miles which makes it the longest beach in Turkey. It is also home to 80% of the sea turtle population and is protected over winter months for the turtles to nest.
XANTOS ANCIENT TOWN:
Xanthos, once the capital of Lycia, is currently known as Kinik and is about 20 minute drive from Kalkan. The location has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list since 1988. It contains various magnificent historical relics and is easily recognized by its sizable amphitheater. It is a great option to visit and to experience the history.
